Nuffield Health Hereford Hospital

Venns Ln, Hereford HR1 1DF, UK – 01432 355131

Excellent surgical team and fantastic service. Made to feel extremely comfortable during my stay. Highly recommended

I was admitted on a day case for an Umbilical Hernia repair 6 weeks ago and cannot fault all the team, surgeons (Mr Grocott, a truly lovely man) theatre, scrub nurses, sisters, nursing staff, catering and even reception ladies. My room was impeccable and such a treat especially as my op was funded by the NHS. My Sister in charge of me for discharge, walked me out to my waiting car driven by my husband and we safely arrived home after husband tried to avoid all the pot holes. I highly recommend the Nuffield, Hereford and hope that a hip operation I will need in the near future will be with them even if on the NHS. Thank you everybody and by the way, it's all healed nicely and I am up an running once more, apart from the dodgy hip.

Macmillan Renton Unit

Union Walk, Hereford HR1 2ER, UK – 01432 355444

I owe my life to the wonderful care from the Haematology Department and the Macmillan Renton Unit. Dr Willoughby is excellent. I also had excellent help from the Oncology Department. However, the Respiratory Department could do with some training. Thank you. John Bowles

Hereford County Hospital

Stonebow Rd, Hereford HR1 2BN, UK – 01432 355444

Arrived in A&E at about 4pm with a traumatic wound to my lower leg. I was seen very quickly and by midnight was on the ward after a fairly lengthy op. Every single member of staff that had any dealings with me was truly wonderful from the surgeon, to the other doctors, all the nursing staff, they were all friendly, comforting and determined to take care of me. Every detail of my treatment was explained clearly and they all went well beyond what I could have expected of them. Thank you all so very much - you are truly amazing.

Very mixed experience here. Arrived with a 4yr old child with possible ingestion of toxic substances, but took over 4 hrs to be seen at A&E..... With parents with older children with strained wrists kicking up a fuss and consequently being seen before us. When we did finally get seen, ended up being admitted to the children's ward. They were fantastic. The porter who transported child up was brilliant and made him laugh, even at 11pm. The children's ward staff were friendly and made our stay easier for both me and child.

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!
